Bonjour!

I'm in the middle of sorting through my cases of fashion jewelry.  I really have too much, I'll post some of the prettier pieces soon.  I'm going to sell or practically give away the rest.  Only keeping what I will wear.

There is a wonderful blog that I follow, http://madameguillotine.org.uk. The writer is really great.  She
posts beautiful pictures and wonderful descriptions of the places she visits.  She is also a writer.  Today
her topic was very interesting.  It is the beauty secrets of Marie Antoinette.  I love Marie Antoinette and feel that she was very misunderstood, and just happened to be Queen of France at the wrong time.  Anyway enough about that.  Take a look at the blog, I really enjoy her entries.

Bonjour!

I realize I have not blogged in forever, but I'm going to try to begin again.  It seems like a new year when
school finally is over.  I just finished my 24th year in teaching French to high school students.  Wow what a year, I am mentally and emotionally exhausted.  My oldest has finished his first year in college and is back home.  I really missed him.  My youngest is an official "teen" now.  She is preparing for her tenth dance recital.  My husband is still working with computers and doing wonderful things in our yard.  (Pictures to come).

This summer I hope to clean, organize and redecorate the whole house.  Yes that's a lot of work, but I've
got to get started.  I'll post before and after photos as I go.  Even if no one reads this blog, I hope it keeps me on track.  I want to be able to look back and see the progress I've made.

I also need to work on lessons for next year.  I've been told that I will only be teaching French next year. (Yea!!! no more Spanish)  I really hope so and want to word on re-decorating my room and developing some great lessons.

So I took off Memorial Day to rest up before the big organization and cleaning journey tomorrow.

Have a Louboutin Fourth of July!

I would love to own some Louboutin shoes! They are so glamorous and beautiful. With the signature red soles and the rosettes on the bottoms on the heels. I definitely would wear a pair of these to have Barbeque and see Fireworks on Monday. Hope everyone has a Happy Fourth of July! My daughter is planning on making a very special dessert for lunch on the fourth. If it turns out I'll put a picture on.

Paris Flowers, I wish I was in Paris!

My friend is in Paris right now and I really envy him. I love Paris even when it is hot and muggy. Paris is Paris. I believe I was French in another life. When I think of France, it's like a longing to go home. Anywhere in France is good, but mostly the Paris area or anywhere in southern France. The ambiance is wonderful, I never feel nervous or afraid in France, which is kind of strange. It just feels like I've been there many times before, which I have, but it is not the same feeling. Longing for France today. I have to do better with giving credit for the pictures. I collect them, but don't remember where I got them. I know the flowers are from the shop Nom de la Rose, from Paris Breakfast (great blog). I'm not sure where the girl came from. The louvre is mine, I think. I promise to do better!

Mittens

Sorry so slow on entries. School all of the time. Just wanted to put a picture of my beautiful cat, Mittens. He is a ragdoll cat. His birthday was April 21, and he was 5 years old. Joyeux Anniversaire!

I can't help it. I had to post these new pics of Johnny from the latest Vanity Faire (not sure I spelled that right) Anyway, he looks lovely as usual. Have not been to see "The Tourist" yet, but really want to.

Birthday Roses

Every year on my daughters birthday, my parents, her grandparents get her a dozen roses. Every year they are a different color. This year she wanted pink and red. I know I really need to work on my photography. Any help will be appreciated. Everything is grainy and blurry. Anyway maybe more practice. The roses were really beautiful, my daughter loved them!

I've noticed my children are growing up so fast, my little boy is 16 almost 17 and my baby girl is 11! I'm try to remember every minute!

I also love roses, even if they are not real. These red silk roses were a gift from my best friend from high school for one of my birthdays. I've had them for years and they always make me happy with their splash of color.

New Year's Post January 1, 2011

This year I hope to post more often, hopefully everyday or at least once a week. I have so many pictures to show.

We also had a White Christmas in Alabama this year! My first since I was 3 years old. (That's been a while back) Anyway it was beautiful and my family loved it! It was beautiful and fun. Like I said hope to blog again tomorrow to show some of my France/Italy pics from the past summer, I just recieved 500 pics from my Mom and Dad who went with me, so I really have some good ones to show. It was their first trip and their pictures were different than those that I took, since I had been several times before. It's funny how you see things differently everytime you go somewhere.

Back From Europe!

Finally back from Europe. I had a really great time and will be posting things that I saw and ate! Some really great food. My friend that went with me takes pictures of the rooms we stay in and I take pictures of the food. More about the trip later. As I was looking through some paintings/prints to put in my bedroom, I came across these really great prints of Jack Vettriano. I hope I spelled that name right. I've seen his pictures before, but really didn't know who had done them. He's an artist from Scotland, I am just now finding out more about him. Anyway, I really love his paintings, I'm sure you will recognize them.

Off to Europe!

Again sorry so long between messages. I hope after my trip, I will have lots to post and so lovely pictures. My son and I are off to Paris, Nice, and Eze France, as well as Pisa, Florence and Rome Italy. We can't wait to go! I've been before, but can't wait to see it through his eyes. Of course we will hit all of the major tourist attractions, plus maybe some not so touristy (is this a word?) places. I'll share stories when we return. Bon Voyage!

Art from My son and myself: Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! Sorry I'm not consistent with my posts, but since I have 2 followers you have inspired me to be consistent with my post, I hope I do not disappoint you. Since it's Mother's Day, I, as a proud mother will post my son's artwork from his art class in high school. He is a sophomore and has a phenomenal art teacher! This is his charcoal, and now he is working on his pastel, of course I'll post it when it's finished. I have also posted my first colored pencil drawing, I have also taken art, but had to take a break. My art teacher is wonderful and very, very patient. Merci Mandy!

Well finally a second post, and again I have to thank Mandy at "A la Parisienne". She held a contest to name her mannequin that she will use on her blog and her Etsy site to showcase her designs. Five names were chosen from many and then the followers of the blog and friends and family voted. I work at a wonderful High School and had huge support from them and my family and wonderful friends. My name I submitted, "Giselle-Marie" was chosen! I won two of Mandy's wonderful creations: a handmade flower brooch, and a beautiful French print. These I have pictured below with some of my favorite French inspired boxes. I have a thing for decorative boxes. (Just ask my family, I can't seem to stop buying them) of course I plan to use them for storage in my new craft room, which is about ready! More on that when it's finished. You will also see another red brooch that I originally bought for a graduation present or for my secret pal, but I don't think I'll be able to part with it. This is my first post. I hope to make this blog something beautiful and interesting to look at and to read. I would like to share pictures, jewelry, anything that I think others might be interested in.
